You are cordially invited to attend Sri Gaura Purnima Festival at our temple located at 66 Brewster Street , Suva. The festival will be held on 27th March from morning and willl finish at 9pm at night ( day time there may be outside activities ). Sri Gaura Purnima Festival is celebrated on the appearance day of Lord Krishna in the form of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the most merciful incarnation of the Lord, is also referred to as Gauranga because of his golden complexion. He appeared in the beginning of Kali-yuga to start the congregation chanting of holy names. The Maha-Mantra that we chant was started by him and its was by his mercy that fallen souls got the opportunity to taste the transcendental bliss. When he came, he was accompanied by his associates from the spiritual world such as Lord Balaram in the form of Lord Nityananda. There are many citations, evidences and references in Vedic scriptures of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s appearance in the age of Kali-yuga. The great saints and sages of India have confirmed him to be Lord Krishna’s incarnation with matching information about his place, time and lineage of birth. Anyone who prays to Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu will surely attain Lord Krishna’s abode. His life is full of beautiful past-times that can be read from Sri Chaitanya Caritamrta.

Please come along and celebrate Lord Vamandev’s appearance. Lord Vamanadeva appeared in this world from the womb of Aditi completely equipped with conchshell, disc, club and lotus. His bodily hue was blackish, and He was dressed in yellow garments. Lord Vishnu appeared at an auspicious moment on Sravana-dvadasi when the Abhijit star had arisen. At that time, in all the three worlds (including the higher planetary system, outer space and this earth), all the demigods, the cows, the brahmanas and even the seasons were happy because of God’s appearance. Therefore this auspicious day is called Vijaya. When the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who has a sac-cid-ananda body, appeared as the son of Kasyapa and Aditi, both of His parents were very astonished. After His appearance, the Lord assumed the form of a dwarf (Vamana). All the great sages expressed their jubilation, and with Kasyapa Muni before them they performed the birthday ceremony of Lord Vamana.
